retirement stuff/STRS

3/20…NHEA has been getting questions about who to vote for when it comes to STRS – some simple guidelines: 1. stop getting your news about STRS from FB or anything with an algorithm behind it. 2. if it says anything about “reform” or how much the CEO of STRS makes, or anything about the cost of the buildings or anything about COLAS and sh#t like that…NO NO NO – DO NOT VOTE FOR THOSE CANDIDATES. Those are NOT reliable sources and is most likely retirees that think and believe they were “promised” one thing and have not gotten another – all of these are “sour grapes” narratives that sound good but they want their payday now and don’t appreciate/understand that STRS needs to be around when we/they are 90 and when your student teacher you just had retires. 3. use the OEA site as a resource – you are paying them hundreds of dollars in dues, they are advocating for you at every level of the statehouse, why would you not trust them about STRS – VOTE FOR THEIR ENDORSED CANDIDATES – FOR EVERYTHING !! your very own president – NATE, is involved in screening ALL the candidates in NEO – like, I meet with them personally – just sayin’

There – the above paragraph is a good place to start – AND pay attention to ALL the stuff sent out by NHEA – here is the deal – pay less attention to your FB feed and more attention to all the work that your very on president and executive team does for you…:-) –

**anything that feels passive aggressive is intended and meant to be aggressive with no passivity – 🙂
