11\/8\/24<\/strong> …I am bit short on words, believe it or not\u00a0 – but I believe public education around the country and surely here in Ohio is set to decline exponentially in coming years…so prepare yourselves – I have been warning of this for a long time – you can see themes of this throughout this website.<\/p>\n

3\/19 – check out the new OEA legislative scorecard app<\/a> – it gives legislators a score on how they vote on education issues –<\/p>\n

3\/12 – great page to see where OEA stands<\/a> on many issues facing public Ed<\/p>\n

12\/14\/23<\/strong> – wanted to make you aware of a bill that is on the desk of the governor as I write – Honesty for Ohio Education<\/a> is reaching out asking for educators and others to contact the governor and ask him to VETO this bill – HB 68<\/strong> – this bill is about gender affirming care and allowing families and medical providers to make these decisions and not law makers…if you would like to take action – use the link above. This link<\/a> will take you to the page that discusses all the bill is trying to do. What is honest education?<\/a> “Every child deserves an honest high-quality education grounded in truth, facts, and diverse perspectives, \u200bregardless of race, identity, background, or zip code.”<\/p>\n

NHEA personal commentary regarding the above – please, please vote NO<\/strong> on issue 1<\/strong> – this ranks right up there with how badly Ohio is Gerrymandered in terms of taking away voices of dissent here in Ohio – it is another example of the – the initiative, referendum, and recall are all examples of ways that gave “voice” back to voters and constituents – this law sets us back in time to the early 1900s and the power political machines that left citizens voiceless – PLEASE VOTE NO ON ISSUE 1<\/strong><\/p>\n
